AFCFTA : "Unity is the key for Africa's success against protectionism": Ambassador Yansané

The Africa Continental Free Trade Area, Theme of the the 55th Anniversary of African Union, was dicussed Thursday, May 24 in Washington. To address the issue, the Wilson Center Africa Program held a panel discussion with  African specialists to provide an overwiew on how AfCFTA would work to benefit African people.

Panelists included former African Development Bank President Donald Kaberuka, Assistant Secretary of State for Africa Stephanie Sullivan, and Guinea's Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Kerfalla Yansané. Speaking from notes, Ambassador Yansané highlighted several areas which, he noted, are keys to sucess.

The AfCFTA is set to create  the largest free trade area since the advent of the World Trade Organization, according to the African Trade Policy Centre.
